I saw a few complaints about shields being worthless, since the only skill that boosts block is a level 20 skill on the destroyer.
so, I decided to make a small mod that changed a few things in the warrior skill tree, in order to make being a defensive-type warrior more feasible early in the game.
What was done:
Soul Rend and Block/Parry skills are switched. Block/Parry can now be selected from your first level up onwards. 2% increase in block per level. At around 5 points invested, combined with a decent shield, you can get up to 25% blocking fairly early on (you start seeing shields with bonuses to block around level 10).
Soul Rend is now a level 20 skill, but its power is exactly doubled. Stun values are the same (start at 50% for 2 sec). Should add around 150-200 points of lightning damage at first level, and about 60 extra for each level. Starts at 120% of wep DPS.
Shadow armor was changed to, well, boost armor. It now boosts 3% armor (instead of block) per level, starting at 4%. So 10% at level 3, and the duration times are unchanged (might need to nerf this up a little for it to be worth spending points in, or maybe change it to just base armor instead of percent - let me know if you think so).
descriptions of skills changed where relevant.
that's it. No other changes made to anything.
Have tested it for levels 10-20 of a destroyer I built to be a one-hander with shield tank. works out quite well. a bit slower slogging though the mobs, but also quite a bit safer.
so for those who want an easier time with mobs, and prefer shields over dual wielding, this mod is for you.

Updated; turns out Soul Rend while moved to level 20 in the tree, still had the old levelup scheme. Fixed now. Actually becomes quite powerful as you add levels to it.
